HAPPY BELATED THANKSGIVING!!!

I hope you all had a good time, I just got back from Phoenix Arizona where I spent my Thanksgiving living out something that could have been a reality show.

12 people living in a house in the suberbs of the desert with only 1 big white van for transportation. Ages ranged from 10 years old to mid 50s. Activities will include experiencing Arizona culture (ie going to the mall, going to the movies, etc), cooking/waiting for Thanksgiving dinner and 1 trip to the "real" desert. And the best part no alcohol or cigarrette smoking allowed!

Boy what a blast that was, I wish I had pictures.

Now I'm back to school just in time for the jaws of finals to snap down on my jugular. Hope everyone else is having more fun than me.

The end of Sex Power God?

Just got this email from the Vice President of Student Life, the "student organized event" is SPG...

This weekend a number of troubling incidents occurred during or
following student organized events. These incidents raise significant
concerns about the manner in which student groups are organizing and
managing events. We are also alarmed by the serious and potentially
dangerous behavior of a number of individuals who attended these
events – both Brown students and their guests.

On Saturday evening, a number of Brown students and others attending a
student organized event required emergency medical attention to
address the effects of intoxication from alcohol and other
substances.

That these problems occurred at events where alcohol was not served
suggests the need to examine the climate for social events, their
means of promotion, the practices regarding admission to them, and the
culture of 'pre-parties,' which can lead to serious health
consequences. A review of this weekend’s events will begin
immediately to assess whether there were violations of the
University’s social function policies and to learn how we might
strengthen our efforts to provide a safe environment for students.

...interesting. I was most intriged by this 'pre-party' culture they referred to. What a strange idea to consume alcoholic beverages before attending an event where alcohol is not served. That student organization should be ashamed of itself for getting caught letting in people who are already heavily intoxicated.
