Howzit!

I just got back from South Africa (last night at 2am). Crazy place, that. It's much easier to drive on the left-hand side of the road than you think. The chief problem is that the wipers and turn signals are switched, so we occasionally indicated our intention to turn by cleaning the windshield. No one seemed to mind, and it was dirty anyway.

My job (bioinformatics programming) there was a little boring, but after a month and a half they decided to pay me. It's depressing how shaky IT/CS education is there. I felt like a disruptive consultant.

I'm not sure when I'm going to Israel, but it will be within three or four weeks. I'll then be there until August of next year. I'll be in Providence by the 3rd or 4th of September.

Since I don't have a camera I found some pictures online of the guys I'm staying with.

To your left is Ryan he's co-owner of RyWire a company that he and Peter started together (Guess how they chose the name...). They do engine harnis swap wiring... Or harnis wire engine swapping... or something like that for Honda CRXs. Its sounds really specific, but theres a decent market for it in San Jose so the business is doing well.

Next is Peter, I met him first while I was hanging out at the Dive Bar (Dive Bar is to San Jose as Liquid Lounge is to Providence). He's as into pool as I am so we play pool together a lot. Before he started RyWire with Ryan he did some Network Administration for a company in Seattle so he's also sort of another CS guy. He's the one I hang out with the most of the three.

Last but not least is Josh... Josh is an asshole, but in a good way. He's the same age as us, but he has an ex-wife and a 1 1/2 year old son. The house we're staying in now actually used to belong to Josh's mother.

For those of you who would like to know. I will be back in Providence on the 6th of September. One day before school starts and 4 days before my sisters birthday.

In other news I got access to a scanner and I'm going to start putting pictures up soon.

Ok, so I've just been informed that in order for you to post, your email has to be added to a list. But since I don't know all of your emails it would be easier if you just email me and I'll add you to the list.

Hey Phouse people. I think in traditional Phouse fashion its about time to try to take up something as a group only to have it slowly decay and fall apart after we all forget about it. Cinicism aside I miss all you guys and i'd like to keep in touch with all of you and find out what you're up to. So i figure when you're bored at the office or at home just check this blog and maybe make a post or two.

I'll start it.

As you all know I've been working for ThatOne Company. This summer in sunny San Jose CA. I found a shitty apartment near downtown (99 South Ninth st Apt #9), but don't bother trying to send anything to me now. Its directly across the street from San Jose State University and they start school in a few days so I've already moved out. Right now I'm crashing on my friend Pete's couch (Pool buddy) for the last two weeks that I will be here.
My job has been going well, my favorite part about it is every Friday (when we remember to refill the fridge) we get free beer around 4:30. I can't tell you what I've been working on, but keep your eye on troove.it.
San Jose is an interesting place to live... My landlord neglected to tell me before I moved in that my window was facing a halfway house next door. You don't really need to know what that is, just know it meant there was random screaming and loud noises at all hours of the day comming from that house. Ask Cyril, he got to experiance it first hand.
San Jose also has the unfortunate nickname of Man Jose. Basically there are way more men in San Jose then women and its painfully obvious wherever you go.
Welp, I actually have to get off to work know. I woke up early this morning to the sound of not one, but two babies living in Pete's house. I think one of them belongs to Pete's roomate, Josh and the other one belongs to Josh's girlfriend Tamara... Anyway, off to work I go. I hope I'm not the only one that posts to this.
